What is YouthRush?
Youth Rush, also known as literature evangelism, canvassing, or colporteur work, is a student-oriented ministry led by youth that offers students the opportunity to actively share their faith while earning money for their education.
This 10-week summer literature evangelism program provides students with training and mentorship from experienced literature evangelists, equipping them to effectively share their faith and Christian literature in a variety of settings, including homes, churches, businesses, and local communities.
During the program, students also:
Participate in daily worship and receive practical guidance on developing and maintaining a strong devotional life
Gain valuable social and communication skills
Earn money for school
Work in cooperation with churches, church leaders, and—most importantly—with God
Build lasting friendships
And, lastly, have fun together
“There is no higher work than evangelistic canvassing, for it involves the performance of the highest moral duties.”
— Colporteur Ministry, p. 12
“The Lord calls upon our youth to labor as canvassers and evangelists, to do house-to-house work in places that have not yet heard the truth.”
— Review and Herald, May 16, 1912
“Genuine medical missionary work is bound up with the ministry, and the canvassing work is to be a part both of the medical missionary work and of the ministry.”
—Colporteur Ministry p,101
YouthRush helps students develop a deeper, more consistent walk with God through daily worship, personal devotion, and practical faith-building experiences. Participants learn how to rely on God, strengthen their spiritual discipline, and live out their faith with confidence and purpose.
Students gain valuable real-world skills including communication, time management, responsibility, leadership, and professionalism. These transferable skills prepare participants for future careers, ministry, and academic success.
YouthRush creates a supportive, Christ-centered community where students build meaningful friendships and learn how to work with others from diverse backgrounds. Shared mission and daily experiences foster strong bonds, accountability, and lifelong connections.
