The REACH Initiative is designed to help YouthRush literature evangelists continue sharing the gospel long after the summer canvassing program has ended. Rather than allowing the passion and experience gained during the summer to fade, REACH equips students to become year-round missionaries in their own churches, schools, and communities.
Through this initiative, YouthRush students and leaders organise and lead local church outreach events, conducting door-to-door literature evangelism and distributing Christ-centred Adventist books throughout the North American Division—including communities in Michigan, Tennessee, Virginia, and many other states.
The literature used for these outreach projects is funded through PHONATHON, where students raise support to purchase evangelistic books. At the conclusion of the summer program, participating students and leaders receive these books, enabling them to continue sharing the everlasting gospel throughout the school year.
Why REACH?
Every summer, YouthRush has the privilege of partnering with a limited number of local churches. For example, during one summer our teams worked alongside only six churches across Ohio. While these partnerships have made a meaningful impact, they represent only a small portion of the churches and communities that are eager to reach their neighbours with the gospel.
Many churches have a desire to engage in literature evangelism but lack trained leaders, resources, or an organised outreach program. REACH bridges that gap.
By equipping YouthRush students and leaders to return home and lead literature distribution outreaches in their local churches, the ministry extends far beyond the summer months. Instead of reaching only a few communities each year, REACH empowers students to multiply the impact of YouthRush by inspiring and mobilising churches across North America. Every student becomes a missionary. Every church becomes a mission field. Every book becomes an opportunity for someone to encounter the love of Christ.
With your support, REACH enables young people to continue proclaiming the everlasting gospel, strengthens local churches in evangelism, and places life-changing literature into the hands of families “…for were it not for the work of the canvasser, many would never hear the truth.”—{Review and Herald, January 1, 1901 par.1}
“God will soon do great things for us if we lie humble and believing at His feet…More than one thousand will soon be converted in one day, most of whom will trace their first convictions to the reading of our publications.—{Colporteur Ministry p,151.3}
The summer may end—but the mission doesn't. Through REACH, the gospel continues to go from door to door, community to community, and heart to heart.
